Behind this initiative stands a community of people united by their interest in nature, waterfalls, and exploring the lesser-known corners of Bulgaria. The project thrives thanks to voluntary contributions, field work, and the shared knowledge of dozens of like-minded people over the years.
The main driving force behind the creation and development of the project is Kiril Nedelchev. His interest in geography and maps began in childhood, when he would spend hours exploring geographical atlases and studying different parts of the world. With the expansion of the internet and the emergence of satellite platforms like Google Earth, this curiosity gradually evolved into a deep interest in cartography, field research, and localizing natural sites. This passion for maps and satellite imagery subsequently contributed to the creation of the Map of Bulgarian Waterfalls, as well as the development of the current database.

Video featuring Kiril Nedelchev, Plamen Iliev, Don Zezi, and Niki Terziev:
By education, Kiril graduated from the French Language High School in Plovdiv, studied Macroeconomics at Plovdiv University, and pursued International Economics and Trade in Macerata, Italy. His professional path has taken him primarily through various European Union countries, and in recent years, he has been living and working in the Netherlands.
Beyond being a personal project, this initiative is the result of the support of many people who have contributed information, photographs, field research, site localization, and technical assistance over the years.
Among the main contributors to the development of the website, map, and database are:
- Borislav Borislavov
- Nina Serafimova
- Dimitar Rashev
- Hristo Todev
- Nikolay Terziev
- Daniela Pomakova
- Evgeni Yonkov
- Ivaylo Mitev
- Georgi Pantaleev
- as well as the person responsible for the technical implementation of the project, who currently prefers to remain anonymous.
Over the years, dozens of other people have also contributed to the growth of the initiative through field research, localizing sites, photography, shared information, and logistical support.
Among them are:
Iliyan Mihalev, Darina Radulova, Rosen Minkov, Iliya Draganov, Anna Karkovska, Lari Krushev, Nikolay Kolev, Simeon Ivanov, Tencho Petkov, Valeriya Pandurska, Pepa Minkova, Bilyana Konova, Georgi Georgiev, Ognyan Nemski, Don Zezi, Plamen Iliev, Tsets Zlat, Dimitar Yosifov, Kiril Kaytazov, Ivan Mihalev, Dida Yordanova, Nikolay Dimitrov, Vasil Davchev, Miro Krastev, Hristo Klev, Georgi Dimitrov, Tatyana Filipova, Milena Slavova, Andon Georgiev, Radoslav Raykov, Milen Georgiev, Krum Krusharevski, Kamen Panayotov, Hristo Svinarov, Galya Ivanova, Petya Stateva, Georgi Dzherekarov, Simeon Minkov and many others.
